Kohima DC Inspects Census Operations in Viswema and Jakhama

Kohima: Kohima Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer B. Henok Buchem hit the field on July 20. He visited Viswema and Jakhama to inspect the ongoing House Listing and Housing Census for the 2027 Census of India. He brought along SDO (C) Vineikho Tetso and EAC (HQ) Dr. Riku Khutso. This was his first official trip to these specific villages as part of a wider tour covering all Census Charge Areas in the district.

The DC met with village council members, Gaon Buras, and representatives from local women’s groups. He congratulated newly elected council members in both villages while pushing for accurate data collection. Buchem told the gathered stakeholders that the Southern Angami Public Organisation is one of the most effective organisations and has consistently extended valuable cooperation to the District Administration.

The visits focused on tightening coordination to ensure an inclusive count. Following the census discussions, Buchem stopped at the Sub Divisional Office in Jakhama. He checked in with staff and reviewed how the office handles its daily workload.
