Kohima: Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer B. Henok Buchem toured Viswema and Jakhama on July 20 to inspect progress on the Phase I House Listing and Housing Census. This was his first official trip to these locations. He led the review as part of a wider tour across all Census Charge Areas in the Kohima district.

Accompanying Buchem were SDO (C) Jakhama, Vineikho Tetso, and EAC (HQ) Kohima, Dr. Riku Khutso. The team met with village councils, Gaon Buras, and women’s group representatives during separate meetings in each village. They aimed to ensure data quality and better coordination. The DC told attendees the Southern Angami Public Organisation is one of the most effective groups, adding, "The Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) is one of the most effective organisations and has consistently extended valuable cooperation to the District Administration."

The DC congratulated newly elected members of both the Viswema and Jakhama Village Councils. He pushed for local leaders to work closely with census staff to get accurate numbers. After wrapping up the village visits, Buchem stopped at the Sub-Divisional Office in Jakhama. He spent time there reviewing office operations and talking with the staff.
