Kiphire village prepares for NEC-funded beekeeping training

Kohima: Akehda Amulung met with the Village Council and elders of Shishimi village in Nagaland’s Kiphire district on September 19. They discussed plans for an upcoming beekeeping training program. The North Eastern Council is funding the initiative. Akehda Amulung is handling the implementation. The inaugural event is tentatively set for September 26 at the village.

Longtili C. Sangtam, the founder of Akehda Amulung, wants to create new ways for villagers to make money. He noted the potential impact of the project during the meeting. "Beekeeping could provide a sustainable source of income and help strengthen local livelihoods," Sangtam said.

Local leaders see the value. The Council Chairman and Head Gaon Bura of Shishimi expressed thanks for the project. They expect the move will benefit the entire village. Success relies on a strong partnership. The group remains committed to the goals of the initiative.

Irothe T. Sangtam, the CEO of Akehda Amulung, will monitor the project. He will oversee its implementation and progress. The session ended with a promise to work together. They aim to boost sustainable livelihoods in the region.
