Imphal: Kamjong district officials met on Monday, July 13, to fast-track development along the Myanmar frontier. Deputy Commissioner L.N. Kashung led the session at the 2nd Manipur Rifles Complex Camp Office. Attendees included Additional Deputy Commissioner H.L. Jain, various Sub-Divisional Officers, and district-level staff. The group focused on executing the Vibrant Villages Programme-II, a central scheme designed to boost infrastructure and connectivity.

Kashung ordered officials to get out into the field. He demanded regular village visits to build direct connections with residents. Line departments must now draft project proposals alongside locals and SDOs. Every plan needs a built-in maintenance strategy to stay functional long-term. The scheme covers three specific blocks: Kamjong, Kasom Khullen, and Sahamphung.

The administration shifted gears later that day to target local crime. Kashung chaired the District Level NCORD Committee to attack the regional drug trade. Superintendent of Police Tholu Rocky and Divisional Forest Officer Nepolean Rongmei joined representatives from security agencies and government departments. The committee reviewed current enforcement actions and demanded tighter cooperation between law enforcement and security forces. Kashung told the group they must "intensify efforts against the illegal drug trade and eliminate the drug menace in Kamjong."
