Guwahati: The Jatinga Festival returns to the Dima Hasao district of Assam on November 21 and 22. Organizers shifted the event to a new site located opposite the traditional location at Hayam. This move aims to accommodate expanded attractions and offer a fresh look for the upcoming tourism season.

Bollywood playback singers headline the musical lineup. Kunal Ganjawala takes the stage on November 21, while Madhubanti Bagchi performs on November 22 alongside other artists. The Dima Hasao Tour and Travel Committee organized the two-day event to draw more visitors to the hill district.

A new beauty pageant called Wings of Jatinga debuts this year. Organizers stated the initiative is "aimed at providing young women from the region with a platform to showcase their talents and abilities, while promoting confidence and women's empowerment." The schedule also includes various cultural programs and entertainment.

Travelers can now reach the area more easily. Flights from Guwahati to Silchar take 35 minutes, followed by a 90-minute road trip. The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council plans to add more bus services to help visitors arrive. Officials hope these upgrades and the pageant turn the festival into a regional tourism staple.
