Guwahati: Assam homestay operators now handle registration through the SewaSetu portal. Tourism Minister Ajanta Neog kicked off the system Sunday during World Tourism Day celebrations in Umrangso, Dima Hasao. The move aims to streamline owner applications while helping tourists find local lodging. Everything moves online.

Neog touted the digital shift as a way to boost property visibility and keep a clean database of providers. She said, "The online system would allow homestay operators to offer online booking, improve the visibility of their properties among tourists and maintain an organised database of registered homestays."

Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa introduced the district's new hub, visitdimahasao.com, at the same event. This site maps out restaurants, routes, and tourist spots. It keeps travelers informed with live weather reports and AI-driven tools. Haflong MLA Rupali Langthasa joined Tourism Commissioner and Secretary Diganta Bora, the Director of Tourism, and other officials at the launch.
