Aizawl: Eighty-three National Cadet Corps cadets finished a two-week stint at the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School in Vairengte, Mizoram. The training ran from September 21 to October 4. It brought young men and women into the heart of one of the Indian Army's premier institutions. A defence spokesman stated the camp helped students move past standard drills to understand the, "discipline, fitness standards, field skills and teamwork that define military life."

Cadets tackled a heavy curriculum. They practiced firing, map reading, fieldcraft, and survival techniques. Instructors taught them to use weapons and night-vision gear while explaining how modern warfare shifts. The school showcased its tech capabilities through tours of the Information and Research Centre, IED Hall, and Technovation Hall.

The program mixed cadets into diverse groups. This pushed students from across Mizoram to build stronger bonds. CIJWS maintains a reputation as a global leader in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism, drawing personnel from many nations. The school now intends to use its base to mentor local youth. Officials aim to sharpen the character of these students and tighten ties between the Army and the state.
