Four Workers Dead After Factory Blast in Assam

Guwahati: A massive explosion ripped through a rod manufacturing unit in Assam on Sunday, leaving at least four workers dead. The blast struck Kade Global Infrastructure LLP, also identified as KD Road Industries, in Pangram at roughly 11:30 am. Udharbond police responded to the site as panic gripped the local residents.

Initial reports point to an LPG cylinder exploding inside the plant. The force of the blast shook the entire neighborhood. Emergency crews rushed the survivors to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Many remain in critical condition. Officials fear the death toll could climb higher.

Police have sealed the factory entrance to conduct a full investigation. Cachar Senior Superintendent of Police and the Additional Superintendent of Police arrived to manage the scene. Rescuers recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem exams.

Tensions flared shortly after the blast. Angry locals blocked the gates and demanded financial compensation for the victims. They protested against alleged poor safety standards. Some family members claimed they were denied entry to find their relatives. Security teams eventually brought the crowd under control. One local noted, "the factory is located in a residential area and claimed that similar incidents have occurred in the past." Investigators continue to look for lapses in safety protocols.
