Guwahati: Flames leveled the residence of Habibur Rahman in Tumni village, located in the South Salmara district of Assam. The blaze incinerated property valued at several lakhs of rupees. Everything went up in smoke.

The inferno consumed gold ornaments, significant amounts of cash, and vital documents. It was a total loss. Firefighters arrived on the scene and worked alongside local residents to kill the flames and stop the spread.

No one was hurt. Reports indicate that investigators have yet to confirm the official cause of the accident, though a suspected electrical short circuit remains the primary focus. Authorities stated, "The exact cause of the fire has not been established," leaving the investigation open as the community tallies the damage.
