Kohima: Fed-Up Nagas (FUN) gave the Indian government a three-month ultimatum to finish political negotiations. The group sent a memo to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding action by September 27, 2026. Failure to deliver means civil disobedience. The group promises a non-cooperation movement.
FUN represents the state's youth. They demand the government honor the 2015 Framework Agreement with NSCN (I-M) and the 2017 Agreed Position with the Working Committee of NNPGs. The group notes that 11 years passed since the first deal. They pointedly reminded officials that former Governor R.N. Ravi declared peace talks over back in 2019.
The group claims the endless delay breeds corruption and extortion. They blame the stalled talks for rising unemployment and social decay. According to the memorandum, "the patience of the Naga people had reached its limit."
FUN insists these agreements are binding settlements, not opening bids. They want a final, comprehensive deal signed now. If the Centre ignores these demands, the youth-led organization plans to mobilize to defend Naga identity and dignity.
