Father Accuses Assam De-Addiction Center of Torturing Son

Guwahati: Kaddus Ali, a farmer from Bhuyanbari village in Lahorighat, accused the Jonaki Jibon Path Foundation of torturing his son. He claims the facility in Jamuguri, Juria, delivered pain instead of treatment. The young man went there to beat a substance addiction with help from local police. Now, his father wants him out.

Ali filed a formal complaint at the Juria Police Station against the center's owners, Ilias Ansari and Injamul Ansari. He says his son suffered physical and mental abuse during his stay. These claims follow previous reports of trouble at the same facility, though specific details on those earlier incidents remain unclear.

Authorities have not yet verified the father's claims. Police are currently reviewing the case. The incident highlights fears over the safety of those seeking help at these private recovery centers. Describing the gravity of the situation, the father stated he sought police assistance to help his son recover from addiction. Officials have not released further updates on the investigation or the current condition of the victim.
