Home Guard Abducted and Rescued During Nagaon Vehicle Check

Guwahati: Hannan Ali dragged home guard Dipen Kalita into a moving truck during a routine check in Batadrava, Nagaon. The vehicle, hauling bamboo from Karbi Anglong, bore the registration number AS-02-EC-0203. It happened fast. Batadrava Police officers were running a standard naka operation when Ali and his helper grabbed Kalita and sped away.

A nearby police patrol team chased the truck down. They intercepted the vehicle in Dhupguri, Dhing, and pulled Kalita to safety. Police officials confirmed the recovery of the guard shortly after the abduction. The incident sparked immediate tension throughout the local area.

Authorities arrested Hannan Ali for the crime. His accomplice, identified only as the vehicle's helper, managed to flee the scene and is currently on the run. The department is actively working to track him down. Police said, "The incident has led to tension in the Batadrava area, with further details expected as the investigation progresses."
