Agartala: Pranab Pal died Sunday while held at the Bishalgarh Central Correctional Home. He was a resident of the Camper Bazar area. Authorities held Pal as an undertrial for roughly six weeks following his arrest under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The family rejected claims that the death was natural. They demanded an impartial investigation into the case. Relatives questioned the lack of information provided by correctional staff regarding the timing and nature of his passing. Family members want to know if he fell ill, if he received medical care, and if any fights occurred before he died.

Correctional officials sent the body for a post-mortem examination after finishing legal formalities. A spokesperson noted, "The exact cause of death would be known after the post-mortem report was received." Officials currently wait for those medical results to clarify what happened inside the walls.
