Imphal: Former Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh pushed young leaders to build a developed India. He spoke today at the Viksit Bharat Young Leadership Summit 2026. The India International Centre in New Delhi hosted the event. The Forum for Global Studies teamed up with the South African BRICS Youth Association to organize the gathering.
Singh described the event as "a convergence of civilisations, a dialogue of futures and a declaration of intent by the youth of our time." He focused on the national vision for 2047. The country relies on demographic strength, economic growth, and civilisational values to move forward. He noted that India and South Africa represent two billion people. Both countries look to the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.
The summit aims to create a permanent network for policymakers and civil society across the Global South. Singh told delegates to move past simple speeches. He listed inclusive economies, responsible tech use, and institutional building as moral responsibilities for the youth. BRICS represents a growing voice beyond mere economic alliances. Singh hopes the talks yield joint research and long-term ties. He reminded attendees that real leadership is about service, not power. The event included youth leaders, academics, and representatives from India, South Africa, and other BRICS nations.
