Kohima: The NSCN has slammed the Indian government for hypocrisy. The group claims New Delhi champions global peace while fueling conflict at home. The Ministry of Information and Publicity issued a stinging rebuke from Oking, CHQ, Hebron. They targeted the government for its conduct during the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
The New Delhi Declaration 2026 demands peaceful dispute resolution. It calls for dialogue and an end to hostilities. The NSCN argues these promises mean nothing to the Naga people. They point to the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015. Eleven years have passed. The agreement remains frozen. The government chose a military solution over honest talk.
The group also fired accusations regarding the ongoing violence in Manipur. They claim state authorities use nomadic Kuki armed groups as proxy forces to target Naga communities. The allegations are specific. They claim the government provides arms and logistics to the KNA. They further allege the state works with KNA(B) across the Myanmar border to destabilize the region. This fuels ethnic warfare, the group says.
Naga leaders have participated in negotiations since 1997. Their patience is wearing thin. Military suppression and proxy warfare now threaten the entire process. Leadership warned that these tactics make it difficult to return to the table. The statement was blunt. "Peaceful dialogue requires two honest parties," the group said. They finished with a final demand: "End colonialism in ALL its forms—including your own."
