Kohima: A former dumping ground at Hazi Park in Dimapur is now a parking lot. BJP councillor for Ward 6, V. Khekato Awomi, spearheaded the cleanup. Residents previously used the area for open urination and trash disposal for years. The project took four days to finish.

Construction is complete. Crews are currently finishing the water curing of the newly plastered surface. Painters will arrive later this week to mark the parking bays for cars and motorcycles. Awomi noted that the site includes four designated areas to manage traffic and aid the public. "The site at Hazi Park, which for years had been used as a dumping ground and for open urination, has now been reclaimed and converted into a parking facility for both two wheelers and four wheelers," said Awomi.

Awomi also repaired internal roads at Elora Lane. He wants to improve connectivity for local residents. Progress remains slow due to thin government funding. The councillor says he is still committed to fixing civic infrastructure with whatever cash he can find.
