Kohima: Keystone Education Society hosted a Vocational Skills and Livelihood Awareness Camp in Dimapur on August 8, 2026. The event connected Persons with Disabilities with job training, financial tools, and entrepreneurial paths. State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Tongpang L. Jamir, opened the event. He told the crowd, "Inclusive development and equal access to opportunities" matter most for the community.
Technical sessions followed the opening. Cheenu Singh of the National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled discussed career planning. Bikash Rai and Alila Ozukum from the State Bank of India explained how to get credit for small businesses. Yimok Phom, from the District Rural Development Agency in Dimapur, detailed livelihood programs under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Vendors and educators offered hands-on demonstrations. Jan Shikshan Sansthan showcased tailoring and IT training. Zeliang CodeTech showed off digital tools for accessibility. Entrepreneurs Inaholi Zhimomi of Craftycrochet and Tasensola Imsong of The D Baker shared their paths into business. The event used Indian and American Sign Language to ensure everyone could participate. Groups like the Deaf Biblical Ministry, Exodus Disabled People’s Organization, Prodigals’ Home, and Angel Home sent attendees. The Keystone Education Society continues to push for economic independence for all participants.
