Kohima: The Dimapur Sumi Students' Union is taking to the streets. Members will gather at Supermarket in Dimapur on July 25 from 7am to 6pm. The protest targets nationwide failures in the education system. Union president Kiyeka V. Assumi and general secretary Atono V. Swu lead the push for change.
Students want results. They are demanding transparency, fairness, accountability, and equal opportunities for everyone. The union hopes to force a dialogue regarding recent examination integrity scandals. The group wants the government to take meaningful action for the future of the nation.
The union insists on order. Organizers promised a non-violent event that respects the law and public property. They called on all participants to act with discipline. "The demonstration aims to draw attention to issues affecting students, including the need for greater transparency, fairness, accountability, equal educational opportunities and reforms to strengthen the education system," the union stated.
