Imphal: The CRPF Group Centre in Imphal marked the force's 88th Raising Day with a solemn show of respect. Inspector General of Police Rajendra Narayan Dash led the proceedings alongside Deputy Inspector General Anil Kumar Bhardwaj. Officers, veterans, and grieving families gathered to honor the dead. The morning began with a wreath-laying ceremony and a Guard of Honour at the Quarter Guard.
Families of the martyrs received formal recognition for their sacrifices during the event. Addressing the crowd, Dash traced the history of the force back to 1939. It started as the Crown Representative's Police before transitioning into the modern Central Reserve Police Force after India gained independence. He pushed for continued professionalism in maintaining peace across Manipur and the nation.
The event included a debate for Kendriya Vidyalaya students alongside friendly football and volleyball matches for personnel. These activities aimed to build discipline and spirit. The national organization is also running an online contest on the MyGov portal with a 10 lakh rupee prize pool to drive public interest. Reaffirming its motto, "Service, Loyalty and Sacrifice," the force pledged to keep protecting the country.
