Imphal: Security forces nabbed four suspected insurgents in separate raids across Imphal East on August 29, 2026. The operations relied on intelligence corroborated by Assam Rifles units, officials said. A CDO-Imphal West team raided a home in Lamboikhongnangkhong to arrest 26-year-old Sinam Deven Singh. He belongs to the KCP (Apunba) group and reportedly handles extortion work. Officers found an IED, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a Suzuki Access 125 scooter at the site.

The search continued in Khumbong Mamang Leikai. Police took 24-year-old Lourembam Rakesh Singh, also known as Inao, into custody. He faces the same extortion charges as his associate. "The arrests and recoveries were made during separate intelligence-based operations conducted by the security forces in Imphal East," officials stated.

Units from the 165 Territorial Army and 31 Assam Rifles tracked down 22-year-old Thangjam Peter Singh, alias Nanao, near the Irilbung Forest Office Gate. He is an active member of the RPF/PLA. Finally, a team supported by 33 Assam Rifles apprehended 18-year-old Khwairakpam Premsunder Singh in Laipham Khunou. Known as Bungoba or Lamnganba, he works for KCP (Noyon). Troopers seized a mobile phone, an AirPod, and a wallet holding Rs 3,630 alongside various identity documents.
