Shillong: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma spoke in Tura on Wednesday regarding the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund. The government created this fund to back small, high-impact projects throughout the state. It relies on the Chief Minister’s Secretariat budget to fix local issues that actually matter to residents. Money flows through the Office of the Deputy Commissioner following standard procedures.
Public demand remains high. The government must stretch its limited budget across every single constituency. Sangma noted, "The high demand for assistance has required the government to ensure equitable distribution across all regions within the available budget." He emphasized that state officials are working to deliver these same benefits to the Khasi and Jaintia Hills.
The Chief Minister also attended an event at his Tura home to celebrate the Achiever of the Month. This honor falls under the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Programme. He continues to push for development across all regions of the state.
