Kohima: The Business Association of Nagas held its 13th Annual General Meeting in Kohima on June 18 to discuss new strategies for local economic development. The event brought together various stakeholders and institutional representatives to focus on building sustainable growth and stronger support systems for entrepreneurs throughout the state.
A major result of the meeting was the formal signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Business Association of Nagas and the Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd. The partnership aims to improve insurance outreach and awareness across Nagaland, with a specific focus on the agriculture and allied sectors.
The organization expects this collaboration to bolster risk management for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs. According to the Business Association of Nagas, the partnership is expected to "strengthen risk mitigation mechanisms for farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, contributing to greater economic resilience, improved financial security and enhanced financial inclusion in the state."
The meeting also included presentations from government agencies regarding available schemes and resources for business owners. Moving forward, the association plans to continue building an enabling business ecosystem through strategic advocacy, capacity building, and new partnerships.
