Bamsiakilwa village launches world's first reserve for Asiatic Golden Cat

Kohima: A new conservation initiative has launched in Bamsiakilwa village to protect the Asiatic Golden Cat. The project marks the establishment of what is being described as the world's first Community Conserved Area dedicated specifically to this elusive feline species.

Dr. C. Zupeni Tsanglai, an officer with the Indian Forest Service and the Wildlife Warden for the Dimapur Division, officially inaugurated the Daukeling-Hebamlo Community Conserved Area. The move highlights a growing commitment to wildlife protection within the region.
