Kohima: The Jalukie Students’ Union Nagaland (JSUN) swarmed Jalukie on September 4. They hunted for violations of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system. The team caught 28 people with expired permits. Another 38 individuals held no paperwork at all. That is 66 total offenders found in a single day.
The union handed the file to the district administration. Officials took action against the violators under existing rules. The JSUN aims to crack down on illegal immigration in the region. They want local authorities to stay sharp. The union pushed for proactive measures to keep the permit system working.
The group issued a public plea following the raid. They want citizens to play ball with law enforcement. "The JSUN said it remained committed to addressing concerns related to illegal immigration in the region and urged the authorities to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to ensure effective implementation of the ILP system." They view these checks as a way to protect the interests of indigenous people.
