Guwahati: Assam has achieved a major public health milestone by recording no dengue-related fatalities during the 2024-25 period. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the update on the social media platform X, marking the achievement as a significant success in the state's ongoing battle against vector-borne diseases.
The state government attributes this success to a combination of intensified surveillance, mosquito control programs, and proactive public awareness campaigns. By prioritizing early detection and ensuring timely medical intervention, health officials have effectively reduced the mortality risks associated with the illness.
Sarma praised the combined efforts of healthcare workers, local government bodies, and the public for their dedication to improving sanitation and preventive healthcare. In his announcement, the Chief Minister proudly described the death toll figure as "ZERO." Health authorities continue to stress that community involvement remains a vital component in maintaining these low infection rates and protecting the health of residents across the state.
