Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth 2.5 Crore in Sribhumi

Guwahati: Assam police launched a major operation in the Sribhumi district that resulted in the seizure of narcotics valued at approximately 2.5 crore. Officials confirmed the raid led to the arrest of one suspected trafficker.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared details of the incident late Monday. He clarified that the recovered haul consisted of heroin specifically valued at 2.47 crore. In a post on X, Sarma praised the effectiveness of the local law enforcement efforts.

"No chamber is secret enough for Assam Police. In a successful operation, Sribhumi Police seized heroin worth 2.47 crore and apprehended one accused," Sarma wrote. The Chief Minister added that the state government remains dedicated to its ongoing crackdown on the narcotics trade throughout the region.
