Guwahati: LCpl Rajasree Roy and LCpl Bishal Roy reached the 6,546-metre peak of Mt. Chalung. The two cadets represent 4 Assam BN NCC. They climbed as part of a 14-member expedition team. These two were the only participants from Northeast India. They reached the top through raw grit. Their success brings major recognition to the Barak Valley and the entire Northeast.
Regional leadership took notice. The NCC Group Silchar and the NCC Directorate NER in Shillong celebrated the accomplishment. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma sent his personal regards to the pair. He lauded their courage, endurance, discipline and determination. The Chief Minister said the feat was a "moment of pride for the region." This climb proves their dedication to high-stakes mountaineering and extreme outdoor challenges.
