Guwahati: Assam Finance, Environment and Forest, and Mines and Minerals Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah gathered senior Forest Department officials and tourism stakeholders on July 18. They met at the Forest Convention Centre in Kohora. The agenda focused on a roadmap for sustainable tourism at Kaziranga National Park.

Officials reviewed proposals to grow the sector while protecting the park's biodiversity. The group discussed strategies to upgrade infrastructure and create local jobs. They want better visitor experiences without harming the fragile ecosystem. Kaziranga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Baruah insisted on a careful balance between growth and nature. "The state government is committed to developing Kaziranga's tourism sector in a sustainable manner to generate economic opportunities for the region while contributing to Assam's broader socio-economic growth," Baruah said. He emphasized that these efforts aim to preserve the park for future generations.
