Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ordered state officials to secure advanced medical care for Ponsi Saikia. The child suffers from a serious illness. Media reports triggered the move.
Dr. Abhijit Sarma, an executive at the National Health Mission, reached out to the family to coordinate logistics. He reviewed all plans for her upcoming medical travel. Ponsi will soon head to the Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Centre at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru.
The state government will cover every cent of the bill. Officials confirmed the girl qualifies for the Snehasparsha healthcare scheme. This program exists to help families in crisis. The government stated: "The Assam government will bear the entire cost of her treatment under the scheme."
The directive ensures Ponsi gets top-tier care. Her family will not face any financial ruin. This intervention prioritizes her health above all else.
