Guwahati: Assam Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah toured the Tamulpur Medical College and Hospital at Kachubari on August 4. The project is nearing the finish line. He surveyed the site with Health Minister Ashok Singhal to evaluate construction progress. The two held a meeting with departmental heads to lock in a timeline for the grand opening.

This facility fits into a broader state plan. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wants one medical college in every district of Assam. Baruah called the build a major step forward. He noted, "The institution represents another major step towards Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's vision of establishing one medical college in every district of Assam." The initiative aims to bolster healthcare infrastructure and expand access to medical training.

The ministers also planted trees on the grounds during their visit. They want a green campus. The hospital serves the Bodoland Territorial Region and surrounding areas. It will boost local medical services once the doors open to the public.
