Guwahati: Assam remains under water. The Disaster Reporting and Information Management System confirmed 107 flood deaths across 10 districts, 28 revenue circles, and 456 villages. Over 137,590 people are currently affected, and 11,933.46 hectares of crops sit submerged.
Golaghat hit the hardest with 68,239 people suffering. Sivasagar follows with 39,495 residents affected and 2,277 hectares of cropland lost. Jorhat reports 16,259 affected. The Central Water Commission notes that the Dhansiri River flows above danger levels at Golaghat and Numaligarh, while the Kushiyara River hits that mark at Sribhumi. No river has reached its highest flood level yet.
Relief camps are packed. Authorities operate 125 sites including 52 relief camps and 73 distribution centers. Roughly 8,000 people reside in these camps, a total split into 3,592 men, 3,437 women, and 919 children. Sivasagar hosts 4,649 people in 19 camps alone. Another 1,876 people remain in shelters throughout Golaghat.
Property damage continues to mount. Sivasagar reported 516 houses damaged, with 176 fully destroyed and 340 partially damaged. Emergency crews are on the ground. The latest report confirms that "rescue operations are continuing, with 59 medical teams deployed and 10 boats operating across the affected districts." In Jorhat, boats successfully evacuated 107 people. Officials monitor the water levels as the state struggles to manage the aftermath.
