Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Launch 122 Crore Projects in Jorhat and Sivasagar

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hits Jorhat and Sivasagar on September 13 to launch development projects totaling Rs 122 crore. He starts the day at 11 am with a ceremony at the new Integrated District Commissioner’s Office in Cinnamara.

The Cinnamara office acts as a hub for government business. It packs the District Commissioner’s chamber, auditorium, and conference room under one roof. The site also handles treasury, revenue, election, census, and Aadhaar services. Government officials expect this to centralize district administration.

Sarma also opens the Cinnamara Railway Overbridge. This two-lane structure spans 545 metres on the Jorhat-Mariani-Mokokchung Road. It features a 1.5-metre-wide footpath for pedestrians. The Chief Minister will also dedicate a new building for the Luitporiya Mising Higher Secondary School in Jorhat and a fresh girls' hostel at Sivasagar University. A spokesperson for the state government said, "The projects are scheduled to be formally inaugurated at a ceremony at the Integrated District Commissioner’s Office in Cinnamara at 11 am."
