Guwahati: Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia announced a new series of organizational programs on June 15 to bolster the party's grassroots network. Speaking at a meeting in Sivasagar, Saikia outlined an extensive roadmap for the coming months following the party's recent electoral success. The campaign has already begun in Upper Assam, with prior meetings held in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh.
The initiative emphasizes year-round engagement between party workers and the public. To support this, the BJP will host two-day training programs at the mandal level and three-day camps at the district level. These sessions will include instruction on organic farming and environmental awareness. Saikia explained, "The party has prepared an extensive roadmap for the coming months based on the mandate received from the people."
Plans are also in place to mark 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure starting July 10. Activities will include special prayers at religious sites, a large-scale tree plantation drive, and interactions with prominent local figures. Party members will promote the slogan Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi during upcoming Yoga Day events and Vikas Yatra programs, while also monitoring welfare schemes and development projects.
Addressing concerns regarding the historical recognition of figures like Piyoli Phukan and Jeuram Dulia Baruah, Saikia criticized past administrations for insufficient research. He promised to raise these historical oversights, along with the legacy of the Patharughat Peasant Uprising, in Parliament. Additionally, he credited government initiatives like Gunotsav for enhancing the quality of education in Assamese-medium schools.
