The group demanded the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and its contractors prioritize public safety over construction schedules.
These corridors serve as essential lifelines for trade and thousands of students. Road blocks disrupt lives. The union stated, "public safety must not be compromised in the pursuit of development." Relying on crews to clear debris after slides hit is no longer good enough.
ASU leadership called for immediate action to stabilize slopes and hang protection nets. They want constant monitoring of vulnerable spots and emergency teams stationed around the clock. The group expects authorities to move fast to prevent a major disaster before the monsoon season ends.
