Shillong: Mawlai SC started their SSA Champions Cup 2026 run with a 3-0 rout of Lamlynti FC. The match went down at the SSA Stadium in Shillong on Tuesday, November 3. Mawlai dominated the pitch. They showed why they are the Shillong Premier League champions against the Third Division runners-up.
Damanbhalang Chyne struck first in the 21st minute. He curled a shot past Lamlynti goalkeeper Nister Roy Suting. Suting, currently on loan from Langsning, could not stop the momentum. Ricky Chyne added a second goal six minutes later from a central position. Mawlai maintained pressure throughout the half, though Damanbhalang missed a chance to widen the gap when a volley flew over the crossbar.
Arkibor Makhroh scored the final goal just three minutes into the second half. Lovingstar Suting set up the play with a sharp through ball. The team leaned on their depth after securing the lead. They used five substitutions to experiment with new player combinations. The game finished without further scoring. Before the whistle blew, Shillong Sports Association Working President Robert Dkhar greeted the squads. Tournament play continues Wednesday at 2:30 pm. Nongkrem faces Mawpat in the next Group A contest.
