Kohima: The All Zeliangrong Students Union held its first Dimki Session in Hangrum village, Assam, on July 24. Leaders took office for the 2026-2029 term during the event. President Haiheube Kuame and Secretary General Liangkiudinbo Marenmai led the group of newly inducted executives. They pledged to follow the union constitution while working with integrity for student rights.
Members discussed the need to build a stronger, shared identity among the Zeliangrong people. They voted to increase cooperation between community organizations and individuals. The union also addressed the humanitarian emergency in Manipur. They expressed sympathy for the victims and vowed to push for peace, justice, and safety. Kuame urged the membership to stay disciplined and work together for the good of the union.
Marenmai promised to keep the executive branch accountable. He stated: "The Executive would work with principle and accountability, actively engaging with student concerns across the state and other parts of India." The gathering started with an invocation and a welcome speech. It finished with a vote of thanks to all participants, marking a new chapter for the student body.
