Zunheboto Officials Push for Accuracy in 2027 Census

Kohima: Zunheboto district officials gathered at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on June 25 to prepare for Census 2027. They want clean data. Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Dharam Raj led the session with local civil society groups and village leaders to demand full transparency in the upcoming headcount.

Raj issued a stern warning against duplicate entries. He told the assembly that headcount accuracy dictates future political representation and government funding for the region. Reliable numbers mean fair shares for everyone. During the talk, he noted that "there is no choice regarding delimitation" while explaining why precise figures remain mandatory for resource allocation.

Leaders from the Sümü Hoho, Sümü Kukami Hoho, and other groups pledged their support to the administration. These groups will help manage the count across Zunheboto Sadar villages. They plan to keep the process honest and error-free to ensure every citizen gets counted exactly once.
