Kohima: Self-Help Groups from Wokha district showcased local goods at a two-day Seasonal Bazaar held September 9 and 10. The event took place at the Old NST site in Kohima, positioned near the Crescent International Hotel. Organizers under the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission hosted the gathering with the theme: "Go Green, Eat Fresh & Support Local."

Vendors from Wokha, a region known as the Land of Plenty, moved their stock directly to urban buyers. Sales were strong. The first day proved especially productive for rural producers. Participants confirmed the extra cash covers daily needs and school fees. The money lightens the load on families.

The groups want more frequent events to build customer relationships and gain experience. Regular bazaars offer a vital outlet for perishable goods. These sales cut down on harvest waste while building local businesses. Producers say the direct link to the consumer is a win for everyone involved.
