Wokha Officials Rally Civil Groups for Upcoming 2027 Census

Kohima: Wokha officials are leaning on local civil society groups to lock in an accurate headcount for the 2027 Census. The district administration met with these organizations at the Deputy Commissioner conference hall on Tuesday to map out the logistical grind ahead. They tackled technical hurdles like household geo-tagging and poor network coverage in remote areas.

Deputy Commissioner K Mhathung Tsanglao walked the room through the historical data. He detailed the 2011 population counts and explained how the district will deploy enumerators and supervisors. Connectivity remains a major roadblock in shadow zones. Tsanglao demanded tight coordination to fix these gaps. He told the assembly, "the need for efficiency, accuracy and coordination to ensure that no household is left out during enumeration" is the top priority for the district.

Representatives from the groups grilled the administration on the specifics of the operation. After the session, the organizations promised their full backing for the project. They aim to make the 2027 cycle a clean, reliable, and total tally for the entire district.
