USTM to Host Live PM Modi Interaction on Anti-Drug Campaign

Shillong: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya stands alone. It is the only private university in the Northeast picked for a live session with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event centers on the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, officially titled Gen-Z Against Addiction: Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan.

Mark your calendars. The broadcast starts August 2 at 10:00 am inside the USTM Central Auditorium. This project comes from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and MY Bharat. It wants students to ditch drugs and help build a developed India.

University brass say the pick highlights their focus on youth empowerment. Officials noted the selection "reflects USTM’s commitment to youth empowerment and its active role in initiatives of national importance."

Students are getting ready. The USTM NSS Unit spent weeks running rallies and anti-drug pledges. They held street plays and community events to prep for the big day. These efforts recently finished with a district-level youth competition, where students used cultural expression to push for a clean, drug-free society.
