Shillong: The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya, claimed victory at a state-level inter-college quiz on Friday. Twenty-eight institutions gathered at Shillong College to compete. The event, titled Kaleidoscope of India: A Heritage Journey through Time, tested students on national history, heritage, and cultural facts. It spanned five intense rounds.
Heena Hussain and Answeha Sarma took home the top prize for USTM. Anushka Das and Nandini Singh of Shillong Law College grabbed second place. Sneha Thakuri and Jonathan Khrsyntiew from Shillong Commerce College finished third. The Shillong College Tourism Club organized the event alongside the Department of History, with backing from the Meghalaya Institute of Governance and NEEPCO.
Aibanshngain Swer, Director of the Meghalaya Institute of Governance, served as the chief guest for the competition. He spoke on the value of these events for students, stating, "knowledge-based initiatives in fostering academic engagement among students" remain a key focus for local institutions.
