Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tripura on June 5 to oversee border security initiatives and launch a significant hospitality project. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha confirmed the visit, noting that the Union Minister plans to inspect border areas to evaluate the implementation of smart fencing systems across Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal.
During his visit, Amit Shah is expected to participate in the bhoomi pujan ceremony for a new five-star hotel at Puspabanta Palace. The project, formerly known as the old Raj Bhavan, is being developed under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Tata Group. While officials are considering tours of West Tripura and Sepahijala districts, the final itinerary remains under review.
Before the Home Minister arrives, Dr. Manik Saha will travel to Meghalaya to represent the state at the 23rd Plenary Session on June 4. As the convener for investment-related matters, the Chief Minister intends to use the platform to advocate for a stronger investment climate across the Northeast region.
Dr. Saha plans to discuss regional infrastructure development during the session. He will also provide updates on the state's progress with the Tripura Space Application Centre and address various development issues currently affecting the state.
