Kohima: Tseminyu officials greenlit a new cultural hub and school funding. The District Planning and Development Board met on June 29 at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall to hash out regional priorities. They formally recommended building a Rengma Cultural Complex at Khwenphen following a proposal from the Semkash Women Society.
The board also reviewed a grant-in-aid application for Baptist Higher Secondary School. Members backed the request after the Sub-Divisional Education Officer confirmed the school maintained steady academic performance. These recommendations now move to the state government for final approval.
The session followed a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee. Nagaland Lok Sabha MP and committee chairman S Supongmeren Jamir led the talks. He noted that the forum exists to help agencies talk shop. Jamir said, "The forum was intended to facilitate open discussions on developmental activities, enabling departments to share the progress, achievements and challenges in implementing schemes and projects in the district."
Local departments including Social Welfare, Agriculture, and Animal Husbandry presented updates on current projects. Former MLA Medokul Sophie, DPDB Chairman Ar Jwenga Seb, and Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch joined other officials to oversee the proceedings.
