Agartala: Eighteen individuals from Below Poverty Line families in Tripura have secured full-time employment within the solar energy sector. This development follows their successful completion of training as Solar Photovoltaic Technicians under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana 2.0 program.

The candidates received their vocational instruction at the New Directions Educational Society. Following graduation, they were hired by Agartala-based firm Mahamaya Traders. Each employee will earn an annual salary of 1.44 lakh rupees, plus performance-based incentives.

Program officials noted that this milestone demonstrates the effectiveness of skill development in creating sustainable livelihoods for rural youth. These newly trained technicians are expected to support the implementation of the Central Government PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which has increased the demand for skilled labor to manage solar installations across the state.

This initiative aims to bolster the regional renewable energy ecosystem while providing economically disadvantaged citizens with career paths in a growing industry. Supporters of the program expressed optimism that these placements will help accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions throughout Tripura.
