Agartala: Tripura State Minister Bikash Debbarma held urgent talks at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday with representatives of surrendered insurgent groups. The meeting aimed to address a series of grievances, including rehabilitation policies and outstanding financial benefits, just one day before a planned road blockade.

During the session, the insurgent representatives urged the government to intervene quickly to resolve their long-standing concerns. They explained that the blockade was organized specifically to draw attention to their persistent demands which have remained unaddressed for a significant amount of time.

Minister Debbarma assured the group that the government takes these issues seriously and will review all genuine requests. He noted that the administration prefers resolving conflicts through discussion, stating, "the government is taking their issues seriously and that all genuine demands would be examined with due consideration."

Political observers and the public are now watching closely to see if this dialogue will result in the withdrawal or delay of the protest. The meeting is considered a critical step in de-escalating tensions ahead of the proposed demonstration.
