Agartala: Tripura Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman met with Dr. Bulti Das, an assistant professor at the National Sanskrit University, to discuss ways to strengthen and expand Sanskrit language education across the state. The meeting followed a series of public observations shared by Dr. Das regarding the future of the subject in Tripura’s academic institutions.

During their discussion, Dr. Das advocated for introducing Sanskrit as a subject in all government schools with a clear path for students to continue the study at the college and university levels. She highlighted the modern relevance of the language, noting that it can be integrated with fields like computer science and digital marketing. According to Dr. Das, many Indian IT companies are actively seeking professionals with a background in Sanskrit, offering students strong future career prospects.

Dr. Das also recommended reforms to the current recruitment process, urging the state to conduct examinations entirely in Sanskrit. She pointed out that the state government could better utilize various centrally sponsored schemes designed to promote the language. Minister Barman welcomed these suggestions and confirmed that he has directed department officials to evaluate the proposals for potential implementation.

The Minister praised the importance of constructive civic participation in policy making. He noted that feedback becomes a valuable tool for progress when it is rooted in substance and aimed at the development of the education system. Barman expressed his gratitude for the academic insight provided, emphasizing that such positive engagement is essential for advancing the state's cultural and academic goals.
