Three Arunachal Districts Face 12-Hour Bandh Friday

Itanagar: The Adi Bane Kebang United Youth Wing, the SAYA, the SIFF Youth Wing, and the Adi Galo Welfare Society have issued a joint call for a 12-hour bandh. The strike hits East Siang, Siang, and Upper Siang districts in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday, October 23. It runs from 5 am to 5 pm.

The organizers expect full public cooperation. They insist this will be a peaceful democratic movement. The groups clarified that the shutdown includes exemptions for essential medical services and emergencies. Personnel on official duty, including magistrates and paramilitary forces, may also move freely.

Organizers did not state why the protest is happening. They noted, "The bandh would be observed peacefully as a democratic movement and appealed to the public to cooperate with the call."
