Itanagar: Youth in Arunachal Pradesh have launched a new collective. They formed the Mebo Area Yameng Kebang to promote peace and development across the East Siang district. The organization represents villages stretching from Bodak to Mer and Sigar to Aohali.

The group met September 18. They built on initial talks held August 16 at the ADC Conference Hall. The body appointed Indu Yommin as president and Kalen Pertin as general secretary. Bodong Yirang, Chief Advisor of the Adi Baane Kebang, chaired the session.

Leaders must now build an Executive Body. This group requires fair representation from both Mebo Banggo and Monggu Banggo. The leadership is also drafting a Constitution and Bye-laws to govern tenure, membership, and administrative rules. These rules will face a final vote at a future General Body Conference.

Veterans offered guidance. Nakmin Perme, president of the Bogum Bokang Kebang, joined Yirang and social worker Gekong Pertin in urging the youth to “uphold unity, responsibility and collective service.”

Gekong Pertin provided a cash boost. He handed over 25,000 rupees to fund the organization’s startup costs. Kangge Tayeng delivered the vote of thanks as the meeting ended with a pledge to secure the region's progress.
