Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu is backing the Itanagar Municipal Corporation. He praised the agency for recent eviction drives and sanitation work meant to spruce up the capital city. The civic body operates under the direction of Mayor Likha Nari and a team of local corporators.

Khandu took to X to voice his support for the municipal progress. "These initiatives are steps in the right direction," he wrote. He urged city officials to keep the momentum going.

The state government intends to overhaul local infrastructure. Plans target both Itanagar and Naharlagun with a focus on fixing roads, cleaning streets, and adding public amenities. These moves mark a push to tighten urban management and raise the standard of living for residents in the two towns.
