Teen Taekwondo Star Levana Sangma Hits International Stage

Shillong: Levana Sangma is tearing up the taekwondo circuit. The 14-year-old student at Delhi Public School, Khanapara, has stacked up wins across the globe. She holds a silver from the 4th Mt. Everest International Open Taekwondo Championships 2026 in Kathmandu and a gold from the International Open Kukkiwon Cup 2025 in New Delhi. She also grabbed gold at the South Asian Martial Arts Games 2026.

Her reach extends to Thailand. At the 9th Heroes Taekwondo International Championship 2026 in Pattaya, Sangma earned silver in the Under-14 Cadet 44-47 kg category while competing for India. She remains a force at home. Her collection includes gold medals from the 4th Guwahati Open National Taekwondo Championship 2025, the Taekwondo Pro Cup National Championship 2025, and the 6th Annual National Martial Arts Games 2024.

She keeps stacking up titles. After securing silver and a national selection spot at the CBSE Far East Zone Taekwondo Championship 2026, she is shifting focus to the CBSE Nationals 2026 in Panipat. She is also prepping for SGFI competitions and the Cadet Nationals 2026 in Jharkhand. Her school identifies her as a "shining young sporting talent of DPS Khanapara."
